Being ordinary never got anybody anywhere. At Engage Me, we’re a company firmly committed to taking the road less travelled, pioneering solutions and setting standards – rather than simply meeting them.
Take Engage Me’s logo for example. Where some might see an ordinary household item, at Engage Me we see a powerful communications tool, a handy desktop organiser, even a decorative flower pot. Like the humble tin can, we understand that businesses have the potential to be extraordinary. They just need to look at things a little differently.
Of course, we wouldn’t be here today if we couldn’t help our clients understand that link. Here’s how we do it.
Culture is everything
The right organisational culture is at the core of an innovative organisation. If companies can get their culture right, everything else will follow. In his book, Who Says Elephants Can’t Dance, Lou Gerstner the former CEO of IBM writes:
“I came to see, in my time at IBM, that culture isn’t just one aspect of the game–it is the game. In the end, an organisation is nothing more than the collective capacity of its people to create value. Vision, strategy, marketing, financial management–any management system, in fact–can set you on the right path and carry you for a while. But no enterprise–whether in business, government, education, healthcare, or any area of human endeavour–will succeed over the long haul if those elements aren’t part of its DNA.”
At Engage Me, we work with our clients to define their organisational culture ideals, implementing these across every element of the business. From cultural reviews to employer branding and EVP development, our services are designed to unlock the greatest tool at a company’s disposal – their people.
Develop an engaged workforce
We understand that an engaged workforce is more likely to be innovative. When employees understand that they’re a critical part of the business, they’re more likely to feel comfortable sharing ideas that could help it succeed.
Our experienced consultants work with our clients to develop best-practice employee engagement and communication strategies. By becoming an employer of choice, our clients are able to attract and retain the kind of talent that will help them unleash innovation.
Be open to new ideas
Employees, particularly those that are client-facing, have tremendous insights and ideas that can lead to new innovations. Take Post-It notes for example. Now an essential component of any stationary cupboard, they were developed completely by accident when Dr. Spencer Silver, a scientist at 3M, was attempting to create an extremely strong adhesive for use in aerospace technology. It took a few more years before another 3M scientist found a commercial use for the weaker adhesive.
Rather than shut down the project at the start, 3M allowed it to continue until a solution was found.
Engage Me utilises a number of tools and surveys to deliver detailed insights into how employees feel and what they think – actively encouraging feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
Get creative, get visual
Creativity goes hand in hand with innovation. And there is no innovation without creativity. Creativity is at the core of everything that we do at Engage Me, effectively engaging employees across the sensory spectrum. We use the power of creativity to connect with employees, boosting collaboration and inspiring innovation.
We are particularly proud of our pioneering graphic recording offering. Introduced by Engage Me to the GCC region in 2013, graphic recording helps to translate complex concepts into visual images in real-time. As well as clarifying concepts, this process is proven to significantly drive engagement during events, meetings, conferences and hackathons.
